When Ambrose was young, a pack of bees swarmed his mouth, thus his symbol became the honeybee. By way of his oratory skills, he was given the nickname “Honey Tongued Doctor”. He was appointed the Bishop of Milan when the former Bishop died, and he maintained that the Church comes before the State.
