Also known as Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Edith was a child from a Jewish family. She converted to Catholicism when she realized her lack of faith in Judaism. During Hitler’s reign, she fled to Holland with her sister. Both were captured and died in the concentration camp at Auschwitz.
